| Remark | During anaphase, the chromatin was stretched along the cell cortex but separate masses of chromatin were not generated. This stretching phase was followed by recondensation to a metaphase plate containing six individual structures, presumably unseparated bivalents. After a delay that corresponded to the interval between meiosis I and II, the chromatin began to be stretched a second time. The chromatin again failed to separate, and all the chromatin was encompassed by a single nuclear membrane that then migrated toward the male pronucleus. |
