| A multiprotein complex that composed of approximately 10-14 gamma-tubulin molecules and at least six other non-tubulin proteins assembled into a flexible open ring structure, which in animal cells has a diameter of around 25nm. It is thought to be the unit of nucleation at the minus end of a microtubule. |
