Remark Phenotype comment -- Confirmed with independent dsRNA (K.O., unpublished observations; similar phenotype). Phenotype could potentially be due to cross-RNAi inhibition of other CENP-A like gene (F54C8.2) (see BLASTN results). We note, however, that the phenotypes associated with these two genes are somewhat different, suggesting that the phenotype noted here may truly reflect a requirement for F58A4.3 function.
DIC phenotype -- Daughter nuclei stay close to the central cortex; usually multiple nuclei (karyomeres) in each daughter blastomere.
DIC phenotype comment -- We have shown in separate work (P.G., unpublished observations) that this phenotype is associated with lagging chromosomal material that retains daughter nuclei together at the central cortex.
