Description of "C47B2.7"  C47B2.7 encodes an ortholog of the mammalian selenocysteine-specific elongation factor SelB (e.g., murine mSelB); mSelB binds GTP, recognizes the Sec-tRNA(Sec) in vitro and in vivo, and is required for efficient selenoprotein translation in vivo, but is unable to bind specifically the eukaryotic SECIS RNA hairpin (apparently requiring at least one other specialized protein).
