Gene Inhibited | F18A1.5
Description of "F18A1.5" | F18A1.5 encodes the C. elegans ortholog of the replication protein A (RPA) large subunit; by homology, the F18A1.5 gene product is predicted to function as a DNA binding and oligonucleotide oligosaccharide binding (OB) protein that is required for DNA replication, repair, and recombination; large-scale RNAi screens indicate that the product of F18A1.5 is essential for embryonic development, and that in yeast two-hybrid assays interacts with the product of M04F3.1, the RPA medium subunit; in situ hybridization studies indicate that F18A1.5 transcripts are expressed in germ cells.
KOG Annotation  | Single-stranded DNA-binding replication protein A (RPA), large (70 kD) subunit and related ssDNA-binding proteins |
